More Than a Fashion Show: The Start of Something Bigger
These weren’t just models.
They were project engineers.
Tradeswomen.
Leaders.
Mothers.
Women who show up every day and make an impact often without recognition.
And that night, they were seen.
If you would have told me a few years ago that I’d be standing behind a fashion show surrounded by women in construction, community leaders, students, and supporters I probably would have smiled and said, “that’s the dream.”
But I also would have known just how far away that dream felt.
Because the truth is… this business is still in progress.
Blazers to Blueprints Boutique isn’t fully built yet and that’s part of the story.
The foundation is there.
The business is formed.
The website is live.
The social platforms are growing.
I’ve created some initial pieces and started laying the groundwork.
But like so many things in life… bringing it fully to life hasn’t been linear.
There have been seasons where the vision felt stalled.
Not because it wasn’t there but, because I’ve been navigating everything else at the same time.
I’ve been balancing a lot of roles at once,
raising a son and keeping up with practices and games,
building a career in construction,
pursuing my degree in Construction Management,
and continuing to serve in leadership with NAWIC Greater Omaha where my passion for this industry continues to grow.
And somewhere in between all of that… I’ve been building this.
There were days where just keeping up with life felt like a full-time job on its own.
There were also moments that tested me in ways I didn’t expect.
I’ve been ghosted by brands I was excited to partner with.
I’ve questioned if I was “ready enough.”
I’ve had ideas sit untouched because I simply didn’t have the capacity to execute them the way I wanted to.
And still… I couldn’t let this go.
Because Blazers to Blueprints was never just about clothing.
It’s about representation.
It’s about confidence.
It’s about creating space for women who don’t always see themselves reflected in this industry or in what they wear while building it.
And more than anything—it’s about doing it right.
The Night It All Came to Life
The fashion show during Women in Construction Week was the first time this vision truly stepped out of my head and into the real world.
And it was more than I could have imagined.
Held inside Patriot Crane & Rigging, the space transformed into something electric. Women took the runway in everything from business wear to field-ready gear, showing the full spectrum of what it looks like to build, lead, and show up in this industry.
The turnout exceeded every expectation I had - not just in attendance, but in the energy, the conversations, and the way people connected with what this was all about.
It wasn’t just people showing up.
It was people seeing it.
These weren’t just models.
They were project engineers.
Tradeswomen.
Leaders.
Mothers.
Women who show up every day and make an impact often without recognition.
And that night, they were seen.
The energy in the room was something I’ll never forget.
The support.
The community.
The pride.
It wasn’t just a fashion show.
It was proof of concept.
Why This Moment Matters
This event wasn’t about having everything figured out.
It was about showing what’s possible.
It showed that there is a real need for this.
A real audience for this.
A real community ready for this.
And it confirmed something I’ve believed all along:
Women in construction deserve better options.
Better representation.
Better access to brands that actually see them.
What’s Next for Blazers to Blueprints
Blazers to Blueprints Boutique is being built with intention and with the right partners, it will grow into something powerful.
This isn’t just a boutique.
It’s a platform.
A community.
A bridge between women in the industry and the brands that want to support them.
From “Shop the Runway” to future collaborations, curated collections, and programs—this is only the beginning.
And I’m actively looking to partner with brands that align with this mission.
Brands that believe in women in construction.
Brands that value inclusion, function, and confidence.
Brands that are ready to be part of something bigger than just a product.
A Personal Thank You—and a Promise
To everyone who showed up, supported, modeled, sponsored, partnered, or simply believed in this idea…
Thank you.
You didn’t just support an event.
You supported something that is still being built but is very real.
And now… it’s in motion.
For a long time, this lived in the background of my life as something I believed in, but couldn’t fully bring forward.
But after this night, after seeing the impact, the energy, and the way it resonated…
I’m not questioning it anymore.
I’m building it.
Now it’s time to get my ass in gear and give women what they deserve.
To the Women Who Build
A Homage and a Beginning
This isn’t just about workwear.
This is about every woman who’s ever rolled up her sleeves and made something stronger.
To the women on jobsites and in boardrooms.
To the homemakers creating safe, beautiful spaces.
To the DIYers turning tools into magic.
To the women auto mechanics under the hood, solving problems and keeping things moving.
To the women in agriculture working the land, feeding communities, and running farms with grit and grace.
To the women entrepreneurs turning ideas into impact, building businesses that reflect their values and vision.
To the ones drafting blueprints, managing crews, planting seeds, raising families, fixing what’s broken, and dreaming up what’s next.
Blazers to Blueprints was created in honor of you.
After over a decade in and around the construction industry, I’ve seen the quiet power and unstoppable force of women who build in every sense of the word. But too often, we’ve had to shrink ourselves to fit. Into gear not made for us. Into roles not designed with us in mind. Into outdated ideas of what strength looks like.
That ends here.
Blazers to Blueprints is my love letter to the women who are done compromising with their safety, their confidence, or their right to be seen and respected. It’s a one-stop shop for curated workwear, safety gear, and business casual essentials that fit how you show up wherever that may be.
Here, you’ll find:
Affiliate-based picks for PPE, workwear, and everyday gear that fits real women
Business casual styles to help you feel powerful, not performative
Stories and resources that highlight women across industries from the trades to the fields, from the garage to the office, from start-ups to side hustles
More than anything, I hope you find representation and a reminder that you don’t have to fit into a mold to make an impact. You just need to show up as you.
Because what you wear should protect you and reflect you.
Because confidence and safety go hand in hand.
Because you’re not just holding it together, you’re building what’s next.
To the women everywhere doing the work in steel toes or boots caked in mud, in blazers or gloves, behind the wheel this space is yours.
